Ice Princess

My little ice princess just went ice skating for her first time and did AWESOME! I was a little worried after she put her skates on and couldn't even stand in them but once we hit the ice she tooled around all over with her little skating walker! After a bit she was bored after skating in circles but was dead set on watching hockey! So we packed up and went upstairs to the other rink and sat and watched a middle school hockey game! She LOVED it!
Watchin hockey!

Little Ballerinas

AJ had her winter showcase today for her dance class! She did GREAT! Her whole class did actually! The video is at the end and the pictures are in backward order! She even sat in the audience with her class nicely and then we had her come sit with us for a bit as well!
She was in group 7 as evident by the big sticker on her leotard!Stupid video is having upload problems... Stay tuned, will reattempt tomorrow!

Getting Ready!

This morning in preparation for Addy's Winter Showcase Recital we did cute hair and left half of it FREE! Kinky Curly is apparently much better on free hair than in a style! So I did the front half, then washed the back with the Kinky Curly and put in their styling products and it worked great. Pretty good curl definition and it didn't seem quite as tangly!
Addy was being spunky and funny so we grabbed a few pics of her cute little coils!
I'm gonna have to get on getting an electrician to the basement since we have no outlets and I need to put up a clip light to decrease shadows!

One Little Fishy...

Jared and JT started their winter swimming class!

99 cent project.... hours of fun and learning!

My friend Marianne had this brilliant idea... She had her husband build her a make shift photo backdrop holder thing out of PVC pipe so that she could do mini-photo shoots in her living room with her son.

I recently got a new DSLR camera and haven't had anywhere to really try it and get to learn how to use the different functions, settings, and attempt to remember how SLR's work (I haven't used my film SLR since college). Because of winter keeping us inside, its hard to find anywhere to take a decent picture and figure out what works well with the camera.... SO when I heard that she had done this I thought it was a great idea... Except, my hubby is not quite that handy. BUT we have an unfinished basement so thought of a super cheap way to do it!

Two little eye hooks (99 cents), a piece of rope which I already had, a few clothes pins, and VOILA! Using two old flat sheets, I hung them up and took some pics! Note to self... iron sheets next time! And I played around with settings, F-stop etc but didn't write anything down or pay attention to which pics I took with what. So after uploading my pics I had no clue what were what!

So next time I will need to take notes! And for fun, if the kids have a cute outfit I can haul them downstairs and take a few pics. Not that I have any intention of actually doing photography or doing anything with my pics besides scrapbooking them but something fun to play around with.

Here's a few shots of Miss AJ!

How cute are these kids!

Jared put one of his ties on Ty and the kids thought it was funny so then it turned into dress like dad day! Both kids put on ties and ran around and thought they were very funny (and they were)! Unfortunately Addy ran and spun so her pics were too blurry! Here is our little man...

Like Father Like Son....

Here is Addy's new do! I did it a little different this time spreading it over two days, did smaller corn rows, and used gel which I haven't used for quite a while. And its lasting really well! Its been in about 5 days and is barely fuzzy (FYI this pic was on day 2 or 3).

We still had our wishbone from Christmas so we decided we should have the kids break it and make a wish!
AJ got the big side! She said she made a wish so hopefully all of her hopes and dreams come true!
Last week we had free hair for a brief few hours... It sure is cute!
And tonight we braved the masses and went to Chuck E Cheese! It was actually super fun! The kids loved it, Jared won a bunch of tickets too! Addy loved the ball games and JT loved the rides and slides!

We had a fun day today although yesterday was a little rough! I'd love to think our life is all lollipops and roses but toddlers happen! Yesterday AJ had a huge fit while on a playdate at an indoor playground.... HUGE fit, left crying screaming, kicking. She hasn't had one that big for months and I was so hopeful that we were moving into the terrific 3's! Since gigantor fit, she has been a peach but for those of you with spirited toddlers you know how exhausting it can be. I love her more than anything and know that her strong willed, independent, attitude will get her far in life. Its just making it a little more challenging in these toddler years! So if anyone has found the magic cure for tantrums let me know!

Making Memories!

Do you see any kids?
They are very into hiding together!
I decided it was time for a little Addy mommy time. Addy needs a break from her brother and a break from her normal routine once in a while so we have been doing mommy and me days every few months where we pick a special place that we don't go very often and then spend the day together having fun. We had Jaedens birthday party friday night in the cities so thought it would be the perfect time to squeeze in a fun day! Jaedens party was at one of our favorite indoor climbing play areas so we started friday night there! Then spent the night at Meena's and headed to our fun day on Saturday. Meena even was able to join us for our girls day!

We started off with a couple of rides...
The merry go round!
The roller coaster...
The super fun cars that whip you around the bends... Here's the before...
Here is the after!
Having fun!
Showing off her new purchases... a pretty necklace and ring that she picked out by herself because she wanted ones to match mine... and by match I think she meant that we both had them on not that they looked anything like eachother! She was thrilled!
And the highlight of her day... we swung back through to go on one more ride before leaving and Dora and Diego were there... She was ecstatic that she could meet them!
Pure happiness!
And her favorite ride... the bouncy wonder pets ship! Those are Addy's happy screams with every bounce!

A quick stop in the Disney store and stuck her head in the Peter Pan crocodile mouth!
We headed home in time for Miss Kensingtons first birthday party!
It was a fun day! It seems like when Addy gets a special day that is all about her that it resets her and her tantrums decrease, she is happier, and she loves talking about our fun time.

JT got a special day too! He spent the day with Jared! They went to a basketball game (he lasted through the whole thing), went shopping, and played a lot!
