Shiny teeth!
So where did weirdo mustache Charlie Chaplin boy come from??
His sister???
Miss AJ had her first REAL visit to the dentist today with a cleaning and everything! She sat and followed directions wonderfully for the hygenist! She was a little hesistant that the chair tipped backwards but then was fine. Then her dentist came in an took a look and Addy did great! Her dentist is black and so she was asking me about her hair and who braids it etc! So we talked teeth and hair! Addy was such a trooper! They gave her a special coin to use in their treasure chest (aka a gold coin for a vending machine) and she had three choices of a prize... a little squishy animal, a bandz bracelet, or yep, you guessed it.. a fake mustache. Both the hygenist and I were trying really hard not to laugh because she was SO excited about the mustache! It was one of those moments you won't forget... your daughters first 'stache! What a cutie!

An overly Merry Christmas!
Happy birthday Jesus!
I tried to explain baby Jesus over the past few weeks and Addy is still a bit confused and although she loves church she doesn't get why they talk about him, so if anyone has a good book let me know!
Christmas this year was a lot of fun. The kids both got to partake in opening presents, playing with cousins, and enjoying family time!
We've had a busy few days celebrating Christmas with many different parts of the family! Here are a quick few pics of the past few days! The kids were overly spoiled but are super excited with all of their new presents and were excited to be able to see everyone!
JT laying next to Delia... amazingly she let him even use her as a pillow!

3!
Little AJ is officially 3! Can you believe it! I cannot imagine how the time went so fast! I feel like just yesterday she was a tiny little baby!
Yesterday was her official birthday. The kids and I went to the mall to see Santa (again), stopped at Old Mc Donalds for dinner (AJ's choice), and then went home to hang out with Lindsy and Jared.
I tried to think of what we may have been doing that day that she was born three years ago. We were waiting in the Domestic Infant program and in the Ethiopia program. I had anticipated recieving a referal for Ethiopia in March and we had just decided that we would do more outreach for the domestic program and start actively doing something. We had no idea that our baby was being born! It was a hard time and an exciting time. We celebrated Christmas with our families and had hopes that it would be our last Christmas as just the two of us. The unknowns with adoption of not knowing when or if we would be picked, when we would get a referal for Ethiopia and if the Ethiopian government would let us adopt or not, the excitement of dreaming about our future family. Low and behold everything works out exactly as it is supposed to. Through the ups and downs of adoption we matched with an amazing birthmom and brought home the most beautiful wonderful amazing little girl.
After matching, I knew that she was 12 pounds and would be 8 weeks when we brought her home. For some reason in my head this sounded like a big baby...toddler sized... then at my last day at work some friends took me out to lunch and we ran into another CNS who was at the same restaurant with her little new baby... how old is she? I asked...8 weeks, how much does she weigh? 12 pounds... HOLY COW, she's tiny... it hit me that I would be bringing home a baby... tiny little baby! She was an amazing little baby and still is!
She has changed so much over the past three years. She's always been very motivated, independent, and a problem solver. I keep telling myself that these qualities will serve her well in the future!
She is my sweet little girl, a little bit of feisty, and a little bit of cuddles... She's perfectly Addy. I cannot imagine our lives without her and had no idea I could love someone SO insanely much until I had a daughter. She has become a naturally good big sister, watching out for her brother, sharing with him, teaching him, and loving him.
She's amazing... She's my Addybell.

Roller Girl!
Miss AJ got rollerskates from Mallory and Brooke for her birthday! They even came with elbow and knee pads and were tinkerbell fairly ones! She was super excited to try them. Although I know she is pretty coordinated, I was a little nervous!
Just put on all of our gear....
The first few glides....
How cute are these little feet!
Roller derby here we come! She did great! Only fell a few times here and there and did circles around the house! She even learned how to glide more instead of just take steps! Watch the video below for her very first time skating!
Just put on all of our gear....
Holiday Preparations!
With Christmas just around the corner we thought we better get ready!
Addy and I made sugar cookies together. Its an AMAZING recipe that I got from a high school friends handed down from her grandma... seriously the best sugar cookies ever. The kind that melt in your mouth and dont have that weird lemony flavor... just pure yumminess! Addy enjoyed them too!
We painted little wooden ornaments for our birthparents....(ignore the nakedness, apparantly for craft time clothing is now optional)
Ty did a great job!
Both kids helped decorate the tree. Its been redecorated numerous times since....

Turning 3!
Little Miss AJ is turning 3! (sappy post to come on Tuesday)...
She has been super excited about her birthday party since Halloween. She decided that she wanted a Wizard of Oz birthday party (one of her favorite movies, mine too) and she wanted her little friends to dress up.
And so we geared up for our party! And then... 18 inches of snow fell and the roads were barely getting plowed. Poor Addy was super sad that her friends weren't going to come but a couple braved the weather and came over that night.
Dorothy on the yellow brick road...
The not-so-cowardly lion!
The wicked witch of the east (you know the one that gets squished by the house)

Silly face after the party!
