We are so blessed to have a network of adoptive families near us. Most of the kiddos are between 1 & 2, and most are African American. We had a big barbeque playdate yesterday which was SO much fun. Addy J played nicely with all the kids and the parents were able to enjoy eachothers company as well. And with 9 kiddos under 2, you can imagine how hard it was to get a picture of all of them together.. here were my best tries!
It is important to us that as Addy grows up that she is around other families that look like ours, multiracial families with different backgrounds and situations. We don't want Addy to ever think that she is alone. In the short time we have known these other families, they have become an extended family to us. We all share common goals to raise happy healthy beautiful children where adoption and being a multiracial/cultural family is a positve aspect of their lives. It is really nice to have others that we can easily and openly talk to about adoption issues, hair and skin suggestions, and racial issues. These are families that will be in our lives forever, and for that we are truely blessed.

Oh my goodness, I am having a hard time typing through the tears! That was a lovely sentiment, and I couldn't agree with you more. We ARE truly blessed, aren't we? Look at all those amazing kids, and amazing parents to go along with them. How fun! Extended family is right!!!
