One of the cancer kids that I knew got her wings. She was an amazing 16 year old who had the same cancer that I had (Ewings Sarcoma) and had fought her battle for 6 years. She was amazing and strong and although we hadn't kept in touch very well, I had kept her in my thoughts and prayers. I met Maryah right before we got married when I was in having surgery. The nurses asked if I would go meet her since she was in for her big surgery and hadn't been in treatment for very long. When I was sick, meeting the other kids made me feel better, there is a connection there that noone else can understand but it bonds us and connects us forever. So please keep her family in your prayers.
We also had one of our best little friends have a medical emergency while with us. It was scary and horrible and what was worse was being unable to fix it. But she is doing AMAZING now and all of her tests are perfect! We love her to bits and the event affected us all immensly. Addy is doing a lot better now but did have some post traumatic stress issues and still is stuttering on and off. Our little friends mom has been an amazing mom the past few weeks as well (we love you!). Since its not our story to share, if you know them, head over to their blog to read their story and for a beautiful post by her mom!
And then we also found out this morning that one of our family friends got her wings today as well. So please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as well!
So remember that you need to live each day to its fullest, you never know when something may change your life forever. Love you kids, hug them every time you get the chance, and let those around you know how much they mean to you. We feel truely blessed to have such an amazing family and an amazing group of friends. Thank you to each and every one of you for your love and support!
Even with all of the stress, we still have managed to squeeze in some playdates and fun! And as always are super busy! So on with the fun stuff!
A new hair do for Miss Addy!
We went to the zoo for a quick trip with Nora, Emme, and Kensington. An hour and a half drive to see a cow and a goat! Yep, most of the animals were too far away to see so we made it to the farm exhibit and then had lunch, played in the water pad and came home! They were super cute though!
Addy loved the goats!
Addy LOVES lemons! We are hoping life slows down for a little while so that we can enjoy our family and enjoy the summer. We have a few fun outings planned though! And hopefully we can get to update the blog a little more frequently (for all of you dedicated readers, HA!). Well I know there's at least two or three loyal readers!
